While I wanted Agassi to win, realistically speaking I knew it would be a tough match for him. Still, the result did take me by surprise (6-3, 6-4, 6-4 against Agassi). Later, when asked to comment on the match and his opponent, this is what Agassi had to say - "I would suggest that his next opponents don't look to me for advice." (Source)
On a sidenote, ESPN had an interesting piece comparing Federer with Sampras and Agassi.

Dude, I was so psyched after Federer lost in the semis. I thought he was unstoppable the way he was playing but hats off to Safin. The guy has really worked hard on a gameplan to defeat Federer and the later was totally exhausted at the end of the match. It was THE match of the tournament!
